Business expenditure proof?

Hey, do I have to provide an invoice to prove my expenses, or is a PayPal receipt or bank statement sufficient? Those usually state what the money was spent on. The problem is, I always put the invoices in a folder on my PC, but unfortunately, it's broken, and I don't have a backup. If necessary, I'd have to write to the sellers individually.
