Downloads always appear on the screen?

Every time I download something, be it from the internet or from Steam, the file appears on the screen. How do I change this?

What do you mean by "screen"?

If the default settings in the browser have not been changed, downloads will end up in the " Downloads " folder by default .

On my PC, I changed the setting to Desktop . -How would you like it?

By changing the default folder in the settings of the respective browser where the downloads should be saved. The exact location depends on the browser in question, but you can search for it online.

As far as I know, there's also a system-wide setting for this (for Windows), which is then adopted as the default by all browsers (and presumably Steam too?) upon installation. However, I don't know where to find it in the settings; I'm using a different operating system.
