Why is the gym always full during the New Year?

I'm at the gym right now and I can't believe it's so crowded at 6am already.

Why is it always the same on New Year's Day? Is it always the same people who start the New Year and give up hope after a few weeks, or what do you think?

Well, at the end of the year, many people take stock of the past year…see what they didn't accomplish, and find a fresh start with the start of the new year. They're remotivated, want to do better…I'll stick with it this time! And so on.

In addition, most people probably gain a few pounds over the holidays and are desperate to get rid of them.

Yes, exactly, those are New Year's resolutions. Train for a few weeks a year, pay for the whole year. A lucky break for the gym. I've never understood the point of these resolutions.

"Getting fitter" is a popular New Year's resolution. But it should calm down in about two weeks.

That's why I'm happy when normal people without any resolutions can train in peace again from mid-February.
