No PCI-E slot available, what to do?
Hello community, since my motherboard doesn't have Wi-Fi, I wanted to install a Wi-Fi card. The problem is, I can't find the PCI-E connector, or rather, I don't have it. I only have a PCI slot. What can I do? Can I simply plug the Wi-Fi card into the larger PCI connector, or what should I do? Please help. The motherboard is: Gigabyte B760x DDR4
You can also buy WLAN cards for PCI. However, they are almost all extremely old and therefore cannot be 5G.
The easiest option is to buy a USB WLAN adapter. CDo that the metal and the radio interference of the PC cannot disturb the signal you can use a USB extension cable. The antenna should be at least 1m away from the PC.
I recently equipped a Raspberry Pi with this thing here:

For "a little thing" the range is quite decent. And it's not expensive either.
The next option is simply to convert Wi-Fi to LAN. Then you can use the LAN socket of the PC and do not sacrifice any other connection. For this, you only need a repeater that has a LAN port or an access point that can also be "other around" so you can choose to a WLAN. However, you can also use almost any router, then simply set up the WLAN on your existing WLAN network and then plug the PC into the router normally. DSL and all the stuff like DHCP in the router must then turn off! You have an old router that is "the cheapest".
PS:
The WLAN “Ding” in the link also has Bluetooth.
Thank you very much
Think of a USB extension (USB 3.0), directly on the PC a plugged does not work a WLAN stick right.
Can also tend to take over usb
So rather not put in the normal PCI slot the long way there
use a USB/Wi-Fi module
