Why do Asians still eat with chopsticks?

Why don't we give up this senseless tradition and eat our rice with a fork, knife or, if you like, with a spoon.

But the spoon thing is impractical because it hits your teeth when you want to eat quickly.
Just the sound of people hammering against it is disgusting.

In Bavaria you don't see the majority of women in tight dirndls with thick necklines every day just because it's tradition.
Impractical traditions actually abolish themselves.

It seems that most Asians, and especially Japanese, make life difficult for themselves.

It's rude to eat there while walking, why should that be rude…

or chat a bit on the train.

In Asia, hundreds of thousands of people live on boats. They may have eaten with knives and forks, as the creator of the West said, long before the iron age.

But – and every sailor and canoe-driver knows that – it’s a bit overboard. Knives and fork slept, the losers could no longer feed, died and consequently have not increased.

The cutlery of the sticker users floats up and could easily be back on board. They survived.

I’m not an Asian, but I often eat with sticks at home, because you can grab it and the food doesn’t fall off the tool. The other day at the restaurant there was only this iron cutlery and I had ordered a salad. The splashing is more of a diet than saturation.

Spaghetti at home. Yeah, they can be patiently wrapped around the fork. But I was hungry and used the sticks to grasp.

… and another non-Japanese who cannot understand Japan.

The good news is: it can be absolutely no matter how and what other people eat their food, it affects your life either positively or negatively.

If you’re interested, for example, I’ll find sticks more hygienic than forks.

Only in very few Asian countries you eat with sticks. That’s how I’m getting seven, there’s about 50.

You don’t have to count the countries, but the sticks. You’re overwhelmed with that? Okay, so you count the countries.

Why do Europeans still eat with knives/beak? Why not simply give up this meaningless tradition and simply eat with the healthier alternative with sticks.

Because it’s easier…

Not at all. The knife belongs to the kitchen at the owners of the sticks, and on the table there are mouth-crazed snacks. Have you never been Chinese before?

It takes forever to teach small children the food with knives and forks. Chinese children are already using time for their first foreign language.

Tonkatsu can also be perfectly cut with sticks;)

Why don’t you finally eat with sticks and give up the ridiculous tradition of eating with knives and forks? The rummy, when people bang against the plate with their fork and then like to slip off is absolutely disgusting. Only most people without any motor skills make life hard for everyone! And then they’ll see the whole city full when they’re eating and falling down. Let’s get out of here.

Just because you can’t handle sticks doesn’t mean nobody can. Your dislike is just mysteriously strong. Especially since you want to present it as if you are superior to fork use. Do you have to dig so deep to find what you can feel good for?

This will not be fair to people with real motor problems now 😡

  1. Because you’re forks for more efficient. Anyone who can use sticks has as little problems with them as with a fork. The assumption that a fork is superior can only come from that you can’t handle sticks.

You are so pointless to discuss because your complete acceptance is simply wrong and devoid. And as a solution, you’re throwing insults and angers around you.

Maybe some cultural understanding. It’s not all about Western culture. What seems difficult to you is neither complicated nor cumbersome for people there. Just as the food is prepared there, it is ideal for sticks.

Mindfulness is a big topic in Japan that is unconscious in many areas. That’s quite healthy. Not without reason, they have one of the highest life expectancy in Japan, so they seem to be doing something right.

For your comparison with Dirndl: You’re comparing an everyday object with traditional clothes and this comparison, enormously. You don’t see japanese walking around the kimono every day.

Where is it not efficient? The typical local dishes can be eaten excellently with chops. So why reinvent the wheel and use cutlery, which fulfills the same purpose? Apart from that, it is much more sustainable. I would even go so far and say that cutlery is absolutely complicated. If it’s not a hand, it’s a quick stop with food. And to go you have either environmentally harmful plastic or impractical wood cutlery. In Japan you can just take two sticks and get clear. It has now prevailed there, because it is obviously efficient and sufficient for people.

There may be some jamming, but definitely not in this area.

And that you simply hold the goose in the train, I would also like to wish in Germany.

There are now cultural differences that must be accepted, so they are not superior to others. I work volunteerly for an exchange organization and one of the guiding principles is: It’s not right or wrong, just different.

Try to look over the edge of the plate and get some understanding of other ways of life. It doesn’t force you to live like that. And if cutlery is so important to you, use it. But don’t talk other people culture down just because you’re not able to understand or accept it. You’re not superior to anyone!

Why not? For you perhaps impractical, for people there as normal as for us knives, forks and spoons.
Besides, you can’t care how other people eat. 😂

Have you ever noticed that the Asian countries (which have not abandoned this “senseless tradition) have lower overweight rates? Yes, one of the reasons is the “senseless tradition” because they have not abandoned.

eating with sticks is the healthiest and most tasty as the food does not come into contact with metal, so that the taste is not falsified. It also promotes the cognitive abilities of a person. All scientifically proven.

If everyone would advise to eat as much as possible with sticks, I will. Tastes better and better.

Wtf, in front of all cook on a metal pan 100x longer to eat

Therefore, in particular, stew dishes in the tone vessel taste better.

Why should a clean stainless steel cutlery falsify your rice? Wtf.

Because instead of the pure rice you have the piece of steel in your mouth.

What do you think caviar is never consumed with cutlery. Oxidation.

If you don’t believe that, that’s your thing. I like a difference.

Scientifically proven that you have first been on google, the bit of cognitive skills you can also improve when you’re shooting for 5 minutes.

No, it’s against dementia.
