How did you manage a mini-job (alongside your studies)?
To all those who are studying or have already studied and have had part-time jobs (eg in a supermarket) during their studies, especially during the lecture period
Did you choose permanent or temporary contracts?
Did you also quit your job, and if so, how? (I mean especially those who eventually lose interest in the job.)
And how long did you do the same mini-job at the same place?
In my first job I started in a limited time, but I had to be terminated after 2 years. After that it continued indefinitely.
In my second place, I was limited to 4 months.
I canceled the first (importantly complying with the notice period) and the second was the contract.
I had the first seven years next to my studies. He was on a mini-job basis. The second only 4 months, however, was part-time during my master thesis.
I was always indefinite. Well, how did I fix it? I stopped at the beginning of the semester and, if necessary, also in between, when I can and when not 🤷🏻 There are still jobs where it doesn't matter when a job is done (as long as it is to XX is done), and supermarket doesn't belong to it because someone always has to sit at the checkout and clean up someone. If the three who were actually assigned to checkout on Tuesday from 15-20 are sick or prevented, must: someone jumping, or nobody can shop in the supermarket. However, as my priority as a student was my study, I did not want to have such situations and therefore I have only had jobs that do not have these problems. I can only recommend looking for jobs where only students are targeted (for example, hangouts in university) because these employers know exactly what they are getting into with students. Especially since this can also be potential employers for later.
“No mood” I had no more, but for example I did a semester abroad and then quit. The shortest thing I had was, I think, like, six months, and the longest was about 10 months… or something?
I used to work 5 months in parttime, which was fixed. But then I quit before, because I had enough of work. Then I was looking for a job where I can stay as long as I want. I agreed with my boss that I would stay a year and then see how it goes on.
