Do you have to cite names?

I have the following sentence in which I briefly summarize the plot of a novel for a term paper.

“It’s about the young man XY who grew up in XYZ Castle.”

XY and XYZ obviously represent names I've taken from the novel. Do I need to add a footnote, or is it sufficient to simply include the names?

You have to mention somewhere the novel is about.
And after “XY” put a comma. In addition,
“of” and not “um” something.

You have to specify its sources….

If you make a review of a particular book, you should also name the protagonists mentioned in it.

Without these names, you write the whole genus of books.
