Where can scammers get cell phone numbers?

Hello everyone,

This morning my girlfriend received a call from an unfamiliar number.

When I called back I was told that I had registered with a voucher site and that I would receive two vouchers worth 400 euros.

You could even say her first and last name.

Sure, no question; dubious.

We ended the conversation and complained to the Federal Network Agency.

The number is already known on several sites that warn against this scam.

Where do these dubious companies or scammers get the number and full name?

When recalled,

That was wrong! So these receivers know that the number is given and used. There will certainly follow further calls.

Where can these dubious companies or Scam the number, with full name?

From a data leak. It's always there. Some time ago, only happened at millions of heights on Facebook. And something like this is offered for sale in the "Darknet".

In case of doubt, they have bought the data from the telephone provider.

Telephone providers are publishing and selling telephone books. Unless you have expressly repoken at the conclusion of the contract.

Most people always enter their phone number on the Internet. You need them for almost any registration. And there is always the risk that anyone resells the number. It is often even in the registration conditions. "Personal data may be passed on to business partners for advertising purposes."
