Headphones compatible with lower Bluetooth version?

Hi! The following situation:

I'd like to buy new Bluetooth over-ear headphones. I looked at the product description and it says "Bluetooth Version: 5.0."

However, my phone only has version 4.2. Does this mean my phone isn't compatible with the headphones?

Yes Bluetooth is backward compatible.

Bluetooth 5.0 is backward compatible, so you can still use it without any problem with your smartphone. However, you will not be able to pinch the full power out of your headphones.
