This is the refrain at the end of a songstrophe.

Example: Above the clouds of R. Mey:

"About the clouds, must freedom…
..notty and small."

A sweeping rhyme or refrain is a recurring part of a vocal piece and usually consists of two to four verses.

Example: Veermaster

Verse:

I want to see a Hamburg Veermaster

to my hooday, to my hooday

The masts are as shaky as the shippers were

to my hooday hooday hooo-oo-oo-oo-oo

Chorus:

Blow boys, blow

For California

There is plenty of gold

so I am told

on the banks of Sacramento
