Which lizard is that? (small, red belly, black on top)
I, or rather my grandpa, found a lizard in our garden today that was about the size of a little finger, definitely not bigger! On top it was dark brown/gray (very dark) to black rather black and it has a red belly! What species is it? LG Aileensophie
You've got a mountain pig girl. Leave him in the garden, best at the place of discovery, otherwise somewhere in a damp, dark place where he can find a safe shelter.
The animal on the picture is a pig, most likely a mountain pig, the red belly means that it is a male animal that is ready for mating. Newts are not reptiles like the lizards, but belong to the amphibians/lions.
I'm pretty sure you found a mountain pig in the garden. The Great Crested Newt also has an orange abdominal side but it is characterized by striking black spots. Also, the great crested newt is considered the largest native newt with up to 18 centimeters, even if it were female, your specimen is quite small. The mountain pig is indeed smaller. A male comb mol would also have such a kind of Iropesur over the back :-))
What speaks of course for a comb and against a mountain pig is the very dark color described by you. Brooding. Nope, if he has no spots in black on the orange on the belly.
So not a lizard but newt. Newts live mainly in water, in contrast to the lizards. Now they wander into their winter quarters, danger to the small amphibians, because they are easily overrun or exploited. As interchangeable creatures, their ability to move at the temperatures can be reduced. In the winter they fall into a sort of star.

This is not a lizard but most likely a pig. Look at Google Pictures, you'll find such an animal under "Newt".
I think a comb mol. In any case, newt.
That was quite a mountain pig.
It's probably a mountain pig.
Image thanks in advance! 😀 because with the colors it is difficult for all because there are many species. 😀
Sorry doesn't work, but I got him next to me he's brownish up with so nice, and down more orange and about 2-3 cm with cock long
