Tetra stocking for 180l aquarium?
Hello, I'm getting a 180-liter (4.7 gallons) aquarium soon, measuring 100x40x50 cm (LxWxH). Initially, I wanted to keep axolotls, but my mother is against it. So I decided to get a nice community tank. Here's my suggestion:
1 pair of mosaic gourami/honey gourami
10 thorny eyes
25-30 tetras
10-15 Otocinclus catfish
maybe a pair of cockatoo cichlids
Would it be OK as is, or would you leave out the perch or gouramis? Which tetras would be suitable? Either 25-30 of one tetra species or two tetra species. The tank isn't running yet. I know you'll have to wait a bit longer for Otocinclus (about 6 months). The tank will be very densely planted, with one plant in each spot.
Thanks LG Leberwustluis
Hello
I think that sounds so okay. If you observe this and intervene in problems, you can do that. In community pools there can always be problems in the case of district-building fish.
Depending on the type of tetra, I find 25-30 torn.
I'd leave the ass.
I would not use mosaic thread fish, but a group of honey cucumbers. As a tetra, I would occupy Phantom tetra or Hyphessobrycon amandae and/or red neon.
So would probably go in this direction:
8 honey cucumbers
10 Phantom Tetras (or 20 H. amandae)
10-15 red neons (or 20 H. amandae)
10-15 otocinclus
20 thorn eyes
One of the Tetra species I would only use with the Otos, maybe you don't need them now.
The thorn eyes need a lot of hides, tone tube batteries, mossed gravel piles with gaps, etc. if you don't like it, you'd rather take another type of floor. If necessary, also the ash, the contrary needs other types of soil hiding. I increased the amount because you see them more often and the asses are out.
PS
Other idea
Couples of cockatoos or other dwarf cichlids
10-15 hours
10 Phantom Tetra or Jewelry Almler (maybe leave)
10-.15 red neon or black neon or hemigrammus stictus
10 Nannostomus marginatus or 20 Nannostomus eques
10 Carnegiella strigata (maybe later or leave)
So top-level Tetras instead of Guramis, and Thorneyes away instead of cash. Then it would be more the Salmler theme instead of the social pool.
I would leave the gouramis, which come from a completely different continent than most others on the list, and on the other hand they have other requirements to the facility, flow and water values. Tetra likes to bite on fins so that your thread fishing is no longer a thread fish. I'd really take a couple of Apistogramma instead.
Salmerically, I would take black neon or cherry stain almer, but is a personal preference. However, maximum 20.
Could you also recommend a different fish of the single loners or as a pair? He should be beautifully colored or have long fins.
Is very many species in the genus Apistogramma, eg cockatoos, or Apistogramma macmasteri, Apistogramma borelli, Apistogramma baenschi. Otherwise a pair of microgeophagus ramirezi
Redheads are great animals they are not as covenant as Neons but they are very beautiful
Yes I also thought about are really very beautiful animals☺️
Unfortunately much more buzzing than red neon, so this is already the minimum pool size for them.
yes tetras are generally beautiful animals
