Affordable tablets?
Hello, I've been looking for affordable tablets for a while.
I'm very surprised that it's apparently not possible to buy a model from 2017 or another year because there don't seem to be any updates or patches for such models anymore.
On the one hand, I understand that, perhaps due to modern technology, it makes little sense to continue "supporting" such old models with software.
On the other hand, I think we have come quite a long way when it comes to technology, and tablets and laptops from a few years ago weren't badly equipped, were they?
I just want a tablet for taking notes and streaming, ie, watching movies and series. How much does one have to spend these days?
And: is it really true that all manufacturers no longer provide updates for models from 5-6 years ago?
That's very good. But you're undermining an error if you think an update saves the world.;-) Even the more modern software increases enormously the requirements for speed, vulnerabilities and the size of the available memory. Go to the net with an old tray so you can have your eyes.
So why should manufacturers take money in their hands if there is hardly anyone else who wants the old ham and nobody really is willing to pay for it?
You're also looking for a cheap device. Would you like to pay monthly or annual maintenance costs?
ps: even if I would welcome it if devices are in use for longer, but as long as we are not willing to pay for it as long as it becomes nothing.
Thanks for the answer, yes I understand that such a service with updates for older devices has its price, which I had already suspected. With the justification, I also like to quote the service and buy a cheaper newer model.
What I've read makes Apple so that you can pay more but get a support for it for a long time.
Is Samsung or Apple better if you just want to surf? How "long-life" is an Apple product – if you can estimate it?
I would have the latest technology, or something, as I have to get a current tablet soon. But Apple has so far avoided because of their limitations, Samsung seemed much better to use individually…
I can't estimate the life of Apple. Sorry.
Apple is a closed universe, which does not have to be a disadvantage. This depends on your own claims and requirements.
The other trays often have a lot of blotware installed, so programs that only little really need, but you often can't uninstall these programs. Likewise, such trays also finance your data.
Unfortunately, there is no royal way for this decision.
My last tablet was bought from Medion (over Aldi), which has surpassed 4 years and a battery change, but then it became increasingly too slow.
Apple products have a loud https://www.zdnet.de/88327699/iphone-ipad-mac-wie-lange-halt-apple-geraete-im-schnitt/ an average life of 4 years. They only cook with water. 😉
If you have nothing to do with Apple devices, you can buy another one. If you already have other devices from A, then it is better to buy the suitable tablet.
Hey, are you looking for a particular brand?
From Samsung I can recommend the Samsung Tablet A8, costs about 190€.
At Apple, the cheapest Ipad(9th generation) costs about 450€.
Do not be the latest, but are sufficient.
Otherwise there are already those from 80€ are no real brand products.
The brand is not a priority. Samsung would be best because my phone is already from Samsung.
190€ sounds pretty good thanks!
