Why is my budgie acting weird?

Hey guys, I've noticed for a few days now that one of my budgies just stays near the cage as if they were Spider Man, he's there and just stays quiet.

Why is that so?

This behavior can have several causes.

Some waves get the bad air, hang on the grid to breathe better.

Most of them do it because there is simply not enough space in the cage. For two waves it takes a cage of 80 cm width so that they feel comfortable and everyone has enough room to sleep without putting the other too close and disturbing.

Unfortunately, I've seen too many waves sitting in too small cages and being forced to sleep on the grid. It took a long time to reconcile them.

Stick parakeets like to climb once and this testifies to healthy behavior.

When the birds cling to the cage lattice to rest or sleep, their natural behavior is somewhat in the way.

In most cases, the location of the cage is not optimal or the existing seating rods are unsuitable.

No, your cage is too small!

The cage is unfavorable and per day that also needs free flights and if they only circle around the cage and land on the cage.

Wellis need hours of daily free flight, best all day when they have to live in such a tight cage. Maybe he wants to tell you that?!

Waves are not part of a cage, but are part of a volunteer in which they have the opportunity to fly!

Alternatively, they require many hours of free flight in the apartment every day. Nevertheless, this is much less optimal than a volunteer.

If they are kept permanently in cages that are too small, forced disorders and behavioral disorders can develop.

  • How long has your Welli been hanging on the grid?
  • Does he eat?
  • Does he move normally?
  • Is he flying?
  • What are you feeding?

Especially if he persists for a long time, doesn't eat, etc. can have the organic causes, indicate a disease, etc.

In case of doubt, you should definitely be a veterinarian! (Please call first)

You should urgently care for the animals and offer them much more space. It may be too late for one bird. Too bad about the animal.

Maybe because it's a cage?

Unfortunately, it seems to me that the bird has a neurological disorder due to the limited movement and the lack of space.

What do you mean enough space?

Looks like a 0815 zoo trade cage that never offers enough space.

What do your parents say? I find it irresponsible to leave small children alone with such a task.

You're right!

I think the Welli has just become a mass product. It's the only thing they belong to the little sister.

The shops have to sell as long as the animals are still small, as there is a constant delay and young animals are easier to sell anyway. Some of them might be frightened by proper education. What a company wants to sell, first and foremost, does not want to. This is where breeders stand out from the zoo trade. If you are looking for advice and support and are really busy with the animal, go to the breeder (which gives advice at any time) or to the animal shelter.

That's true, of course, but if you're suggesting everything as ideal there, you'll believe it at the first moment. Especially when you start keeping animals.

And if the animals make themselves recognizable, suffer damage and suffering from the attitude, it is often too late or strong at the border!

In my opinion, however, there is also a certain responsibility for the enactment of an animal to clarify the new owner about the right attitude. It doesn't matter if it's a private person or an animal. Although there is much more responsibility for an animal trade, as it becomes blindly familiar to many customers as a commercial animal salesman!

Unfortunately, the animals (often from mass breeding) become a "miss" afterwards

The price should also be significantly higher for such animals and the attitude.

It is also up to people to inform themselves about something and ask themselves to prepare for the new animal.

A reason for not giving animals to children. This is foreseeable!

Unfortunately, in the zoo trade, the right attitude is not explained!

Although the remark from the manufacturer is often on the cages: 'not suitable for permanent posture', it is presented and sold as such!

Yeah, I'm sorry. It's incomprehensible for me.

Unfortunately, every animal can buy in the zoo trade, which usually does not ask for what happens to the animals…
