Do I need to go to the vet sooner?

Hi, I've had my first two rats for 3-4 weeks now and they've been doing well until now. I've already called the vet and made an appointment for next Friday, but she told me that if it's worse than she thinks I should go sooner because she doesn't know how bad it is since I can't send a picture, and since this is my first time with rats, I don't know either and wanted to ask if I should go to the vet sooner or if it's okay to wait until next week?

I'm sure I wouldn't wait for a week, that doesn't look good. Can also be an infection and this is dangerous in such small animals.

But if you said the rat had a red eye, the veterinarian would have had to react faster. There is no waiting for ophthalmologists.

The eyes look very inflamed. In the worst case, the animal can become blind. I wouldn't wait there.

So a whole week is definitely too long…very sooner Monday, better still today.
