Battery gone up in smoke – still dangerous?

Hello, my cell phone battery suddenly started smoking. I moved it away from anything flammable as quickly as possible.

Now, fortunately, the smoking has stopped – my question is: is it still dangerous, could something else happen?

Or can the battery be thrown into the electronic waste without any problems?

the must be specially disposed of.

read something: big bucket, sand in and the battery in.

as soon as possible to inform the municipality/city how and where you can bring it.

It may ignite again at any time if not all cells have been burned out. So what belongs separately disposed of
