Embryonic stem cells totipotent or pluripotent?

Hello,

Are embryonic stem cells totipotent or pluripotent or both?
My teacher told us totipotent. But I read in the book that they are pluripotent stem cells.

Unfortunately, I can no longer ask the teacher because he is sick.

What is right now and why?

thank you in advance

Both are true. But only to a certain point.
The cygote is dead. Once Ectoderm, Mesoderm and Endoderm have developed, these embryonic tissues are pluripotent.
