When did the Ottoman Empire expand into Europe and Africa?

In what year did the spread to Africa and Europe begin?

Constantinople fell to Mehmed II in 1453 – and since this city lies on 2 continents one can take this year, I think, very well as the beginning of the spread of the Ottoman Empire to Europe.

In Africa… I am not quite sure when Egypt became Ottoman – whether before or after conquest Constantinoples; but I guess that happened a little more. Alexandria was finally eminently important for the Byzantine Empire – Egypt was its corn chamber. To unravel it must have been one of the main objectives of the Ottomans before their attack on Constantinople itself. So I'd tap sometime in the first half of the 15th century.

Islamic expansion began approximately 630 AD, immediately after the founding of Islam.

Turks were trained as warrior slaves by the Arabs at the beginning and formed an elite warrior casket that later emancipated and gained political power. The Ottomans have also emerged from this.

The beginning of Islamic expansion is considered at the same time as the end of the Ancient era in Europe and went until 1492 AD when the Spanish reconquista had finally expelled the Moors from Europe, which were sedentary for 700 years over North Africa.
