Diese Käfer sind eben wirklich sehr klein (bis zu 3mm), ihre Larven fressen leider nicht nur an Brot (und anderen Lebensmitteln), wie ihr Name vermuten läßt, sie gehen auch an Papier, Leder und Pappe – Bücher – daher nennt man die Larve des Brotkäfers auch Bücherwurm.
Somit sollte man all diese Dinge in dem Raum, in dem sie auftreten, genau untersuchen nach weiteren Käfern und auch Larven.
Körnerkissen, Lebkuchenherzen, vergessene Kekse, Tiertrockenfutter bitte dabei nicht vergessen.
