Why is the reaction of an acidic solution with a metal a redox reaction?

Weil bei einer solchen Reaktion das Metall Elektronen an die Oxonium-Ionen abgibt. Es finden also Oxidation (Elektronenabgabe) und Reduktion (Elektronenaufnahme) statt.
