Build your own mini ergometer for your desk?

Hello dear community,

I'm wondering if it's possible to convert a small ergometer or ideally an indoor cycling bike to fit under a desk.

Since I have a lot of downtime at the office, I want to use my time wisely and get some exercise. However, a large indoor bike isn't an option, as it would be too bulky and conspicuous. My idea: Couldn't I simply remove some unnecessary parts to make it usable under the desk?

My plan would be to sit on a regular chair and use the flywheel and pedals under the table for about an hour of intense training.

Does anyone have experience or tips on this? 😊

For any questions that may arise:

The mini ergometers currently available don't seem adequate to me, as they usually only have a flywheel with a maximum mass of 5 kg, very short pedals, and probably don't offer enough resistance. I weigh 110 kg, regularly do strength training, and doubt these machines will pose a real challenge for me.

Of course, that would be possible, but you have to be screwdrivers and bastards.

Perhaps a bit of experience in welding would be helpful.

I've seen something like that in the trade. This is with and without quality.

I've got something super cheap.

the seat position you seek is highly harmful to health.

only what would be possible with a higher writing/standing desk.

No.

because you want to use a chair.

it is not about a height-adjustable, but writing about a HIGH.
