Experiences – Philippines in August?
Hello everyone,
We would like to travel to the Philippines next year in August. We know that this is the rainy season, but we are committed to this time.
Have any of you had any experiences and can tell us about them, and perhaps also where in the Philippines it is nice in the summer?
Thank you in advance!
I've been to the Philippines many Augusts because I lived there for a long time. There is no single rainy season. The Philippines has various climate zones. The weather is often very different in places just a few kilometers apart.
My recommendations for when to go would be Caramoan, Camiguin, Siquijor, or even Davao, Samal, and GSC. August was my favorite month on Caramoan. It's a perfect place for a vacation. From dream beaches to rainforests, waterfalls to volcanoes, you'll find everything there without mass tourism.
The main travel time when the weather is somewhat bearable would be the end of October to the beginning of March, August rainy season, monsoons, tornadoes, hurricanes with winds of up to 200 km/h are not uncommon. I was there once, believe me, I would have preferred to have done without it. It ends with your life. We were on a very small ship and we owe our survival to the coast guard and a taker who was further out. The tank basically acted as a breakwater.
