Lathe and chuck not running smoothly?

Hello, I have an inexpensive beginner's lathe from Einhell that I've been using for a while now. I then bought a chuck. I had to use a thread adapter from m18 to m33. Unfortunately, the chuck doesn't run completely true. The chuck is quite heavy, so I think the weight is causing the motor to stop running. Is there a way to fix this, or should I get a sturdier lathe?

I suspect that at least one part, perhaps the threaded adapter, has radial runout. It can't be the weight.

The bench won't be designed for this. Find something more stable.

If it's one of those pressed-metal things, don't invest another cent in it; they're completely hopeless. Get a better pencil sharpener. The M18 is also far too weak as a spindle nose.

The central problem with turning machines is controlling vibrations, especially since the blanks are usually very out of round to begin with. And this primarily requires weight.
