How does the Amazon “packstation” work?

I often order things from Amazon. However, I often don't notice when the delivery person arrives. Sometimes the delivery people give it to the neighbors, which is the easiest way. Often, however, the item is returned after several delivery attempts. Why don't the delivery people put the shipment in a parcel box like this?

This is less than a kilometer away from where I live.

PS It's always Amazon delivery drivers. (In-house shipping company)

When ordering, you must specify that it should be delivered to the packing station, otherwise the driver must not bring it there.

When you pass this Amazon "Locker" you note the name to the top right.

You go to Amazon and create an additional delivery address in the account. It's the "Loose".

In the next order, you do not enter your home address, but that of the locker, then you will also be delivered there. But be careful! Unlike DHL and Hermes, the goods are stored there only 3 days.
