In the Federal Republic, he was the first German-speaking singer in the 70s, after it became common in the 60s that modern music was increasingly associated with English-speaking music. For me as a teenager a reason to have heard him at that time.

After the discovery of DDR Rock, I preferred the music. There were a variety of interesting bands.

He made German rock music a breakthrough and shaped his own style. I like the Lindenberg music of the early years better than his late music.
