You can also get a full anesthesia/dawn sleep, but you have to pay (almost always) yourself. What this costs is different from practice to practice.
OPs usually do the oral surgery. The dentist is pulling his teeth. A normal dentist practice is not geared to major surgical actions and is not right until an anesthesia comes into play.
An anesthesia is usually not taken over by the health insurance.
