With ID card to Albania?
Hello,
I would like to fly to Albania in September for vacation.
And Albania is not in the EU, but the internet says that you can still enter with an identity card.
My question is, has anyone had any experience with the ID card? Or do I need to apply for a passport now?
best regards
Whether the identity card is sufficient does not depend on EU membership.
For example, for travel to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Turkey (all no EU members) the identity card is sufficient for Germans.
However, I do not have specific experiences with Albania.
Not EU should only go with passport.
According to the logic, you should also need a passport for trips to Switzerland or Norway, but that is not the case. I have already entered Turkey with my ID without problems.
…only with passport and a visa
You should find all necessary information on the page of the Federal Foreign Office.
