Is this derealization?

Hello, my grandfather died yesterday, and since then I've been staring into space for a few minutes at a time. But I know I'm doing it. I've had this problem before, too. Is there another name for it? Or is that it? I know I'm staring into space, but it doesn't stop.

I have to see the doctor today anyway, should I mention it?

You can address it in any case. After the death of a family member, stress symptoms can occur. Derealization would be one of them, but this is a diagnosis, so one cannot say so.

In derealization, the environment feels very unreal and surreal.

Looking into the void can also be a kind of derealization but it does not have to. It can be that one is very focused on the internal processes. So on thoughts etc, so it looks from the outside as if you look into the void.

After a loss, there can be an empty feeling that can express itself through frequent innocence.

Thus, it does not have to be an indignified derealization, but a feeling of emptiness. Or focus on internal processes.

Adding: A void feeling many always describe differently. Some say they are bored or they feel sometimes. Or something lacks in their lives, but they can't say what. Nearly a loss can of course express this
