What happens if the exhaust is too loud even though it is not registered?

Hi everyone, I drive a VW Polo 9N, 54 hp, 1.2 liter, 3-cylinder. I bought a complete sports exhaust system for the car, from the catalytic converter onwards. Just for fun, I did a dB test with my phone and it came out at 92 dB. Now I'm wondering what would happen if I get stopped with it? The sports exhaust has an E-approval number and isn't subject to registration. I haven't changed a thing. So if I get stopped, I think they can't do anything to me. Am I right, or should I be worried?

Hi, in your vehicle papers, how loud your car can be.

If it's louder, your license expires. You'll get a fine and you'll have to install an exhaust with which the car complies with the requirements.

You can assert claims against the manufacturer of the exhaust. There is no way to pass the db values โ€‹โ€‹into your vehicle registration.

Okay, yeah. You also have to measure at right angles and not in a house canyon.

Then the car has to stop them. 92 db would be very loud, that might be clear with a motorcycle or Lambo.

If you didn't measure yourself there, it would be just a matter of time until you're stopped, because that is striking.

This means that I can reclaim my money for the exhaust?

Yes, after three unsuccessful follow-up attempts, you can ask for a refund. Send the installation confirmation of the workshop and the test protocol prepared with a calibrated measuring instrument to the seller and request the removal of defects.

Where did you get the exhaust? Ordered from the Internet? Do you have a link?

If he does not fulfill the guaranteed properties, then yes.

Hello,

if the volume is higher than the entered value you can no longer move your vehicle in road traffic. It does not matter whether the exhaust system has an E number or not. It only counts the measured value minus the corresponding tolerance.

I'm not a professional, but if he's too loud, he's too loud.

Whether registered or not.

It'll probably have to change.

But why even a sports exhaust at 54 hp?

The measurement with the cell phone is nothing. It's not calibrated. Did you also comply with the necessary regulations from the distance, no secondary noise, not on a wall?

If he has an ABE, he fits.
