Can I deduct costs during training from my taxes?

Hello dear community,

I'm currently a third-year apprentice and don't pay any (payroll) taxes yet. So, I can actually skip filing an income tax return. But a friend told me that I can carry these costs forward (parking costs for vocational school, travel expenses to vocational school, etc.) and, when I pay taxes, I can deduct these costs from my training this year. Is that true? If so, how do I do that?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards and have a nice rest of the week!

You can deduct your advertising costs from the taxes. But that makes sense only if you pay taxes at all.

You don't get these costs reimbursed, but you only reduce your "taxable income". Less than zero doesn't go.

You can only claim the loss under § 10d EStG if your entire advertising costs are higher than your total revenue.

I personally have not seen an apprentice who has less gross wage than expenditure.

That would be nice, but is absolute nonsense
