Is it even worth being a working student (vs. being a regular employee)?

Assuming I earn 20€ per hour and work 12 hours per week, that's 4 * 12 * 20 = 960 ~ 1000€ per month.

The gross net calculator gives me €915 net as a working student:

In addition, I would need health insurance and apparently also nursing care insurance, which costs 95+25€ with Barmer, for example, so I'm actually only left with 790€ net.

If I just earned that, I would end up with even more:

Is it only worth it if you work really hard or what's the point?

As a student, it is usually not worth crossing the shortage due to health insurance.

There is no choice: Students employed within the occupational health limits are insurance-free in the unemployment and health/care insurance.

Depending on the merit and own health insurance, this can actually be more expensive for the student.

You have just under 20% deductions and are already expected for pension points. What do you expect to get out of gross net at 1000 euros?

In other words: Who's going to pay your health insurance for you?

he already does that at least 50%. At some point you have to learn to come up for yourself instead of screaming for the state.

You forgot the monetary advantage of investing in your skills through your studies.
