Amazon Marketplace – how do you get your warranty if devices are defective?
Hello, I bought an audio extractor for my projector from Amazon Marketplace last September. The manufacturer is ezcoo HITECH . According to their website, they're based in California, but as is often the case, it appears to be a Chinese company.
Now, of all times, the device broke over Christmas, and according to Amazon's website, I'm entitled to my two-year warranty . However, nowhere in my account or under my purchases can I find any information, link, or address where I can return the device or how I can claim my warranty. Amazon is simply pulling out of the whole thing … I've often heard that there can be problems with Marketplace orders, but I never would have thought it would be this bad.
I've already contacted the manufacturer directly, but I haven't received a response. This should actually be Amazon's responsibility. Can anyone give me some advice on who I should contact? Is there an email address or something similar?
Thanks in advance.
First contact the seller about your orders. If you don’t get an answer, contact the Amazon customer service via the help page. There you can get support for return and warranty. Good luck! Best regards W18
Thanks for the quick answer. I already wrote the seller and the manufacturer. No reaction until now. I hadn’t even been on the screen for help. Does that mean that Amazon is basically legally responsible for the handling and only wants to press?
Your contact for the weight loss is only your seller – the dealer. You need to contact this.
The manufacturer would only be your contact if he would give a warranty for the product….. and then also only in the framework mentioned in the warranty terms. He is not your contact person for asserting warranty.
The operator of the marketplace (here Amazon) has nothing to do with this. The Amazon assists the customers of the marketplace in asserting warranty claims is a voluntary service of Amazon.
If you buy a product on the Amazon Marketplace and it is defective within the statutory warranty period, the procedure depends on the type of seller (Amazon itself or a third party).
