Wait or look for another workshop?

Good day GF Community,

My car needed repairs and at the end of January I went to an official workshop for my car brand. I told a mechanic what needed to be done or rather what was broken and asked for a cost estimate. My details were noted down and I waited a whole week for a reply but nothing happened. When I then called the workshop to ask what the situation was, they said that they would have to order the parts because they didn't have them in stock. They hadn't yet provided a cost estimate because they couldn't get the parts at the moment. I then asked for a cost estimate again and told them that I would take care of getting the parts.

That was at the beginning of February, so I did some research online and bought the parts I needed from reputable manufacturers or original parts. After another two weeks had passed and I still hadn't received a bill of sale in my emails, I called the repair shop again to say that the parts were on their way and would arrive soon, and that I'd like to know how much the repair would cost. The repair shop then told me that they would create a bill of sale that same day and send it to me.

Again I waited a week and even wrote an email with the part numbers and what needed to be done, but again nothing happened.

At the beginning of March, I called again and asked if they had received my email. I was told that only the boss had access to the email (the email is on the website under "Contact," right below the workshop's official phone number). Anyway, I wanted to believe the employee and told him again that I was waiting for my health insurance statement.

Mid-March

After giving the workshop an eternity to get back to me, I called again to check that all the parts were there, and I was just waiting for the bill of sale. I was told someone would take care of it in the next few days.

At the end of March, I called again to ask how things were going, as I was planning to take my car on vacation this summer and wanted the problem resolved. The boss personally answered the phone and told me he'd sent the bill yesterday. When I replied that I hadn't received it by email, I was told it had been sent by mail.

Now tomorrow two weeks will have passed since the conversation and I have neither an email nor a letter in my inbox.

My guess is that nothing more will come of it. What do you think? Should I call again and ask, or just wait? Or just find another repair shop, since I never signed anything since the cost estimate was only agreed upon verbally.

You're a very patient lamb!

You don't call or write emails. You just drive to the workshop and discuss everything with the motor vehicle master.

This workshop has no interest in an order from you, which is why.

You should go to another workshop, but if they use the parts you bought, you need to find out yourself.

I'd pick up my car right now and find another workshop. You shouldn't go to a contract partner of your factory either, because they usually do not dismantle any "moved" parts. Find a free workshop, this will be a bit cheaper than the big neck cutters.

A contract workshop will refuse.

  1. want to earn the parts
  2. are available on the market so many counterfeiting that the risk of this would be much too great. Because if something's broken on these parts, you could make the workshop regressive.

I would have picked up the car from the Schnarchnasenwerkstatt no later than a week and brought it somewhere else.

Certain workshops do not dismantle themselves because of the warranty. You should explain that before.

I don't know any workshop that makes a cost estimate without having the car there

Pick up other workshop.

BUT:

Check if the parts are to be installed.
My workshop wouldn't do that.

Andre Wetkstatt seek and vehicle manufacturers to inform how this workshop deals with customers under its name.

well, I can imagine if the representative of her brand is acting in a disreputable manner (eg by means of a fucking service).
