Can you drive in America without a driver's license?

And from what age? I've seen several American series where it's normal for 16-year-olds to drive, or where people sometimes drive while completely drunk, as if that were normal. Of course, series have nothing to do with reality, but what's the truth in that? I've also heard that in countries like Bosnia, children are already driving cars and nobody cares.

In the US, the states regulate themselves when a driving license can be made. In many countries it is only 18, in others the border is 16 or 17 years old.

And just like here, a journey of drunkenness in the USA is illegal. A fine or imprisonment threatens here. For example, we in Germany are allowed to drink a beer during the ride, as long as it does not affect you and does not reach more than 0.5 permille. For example, this is strictly forbidden in the USA. Broken bottles must be transported in the trunk to give the driver no opportunity to drink while driving.

So much isn't that most of them are Hollywood glamor and prejudices. Of course, this also happens in individual cases, but the majority of Americans live very legally conscious.

No, even in the United States a driving license is required and also in the USA, it is forbidden to drive drunk. In the United States, however, the right to driving licenses is not an applicable federal law, as in Germany, but is in the hands of the individual states, that is to say, as if the individual countries were to be regulated in Germany. In some states, the minimum age is 16 and in others it is 17 or 18 years. The acquisition is also different in the USA. At least in some states, there are no official driving schools, but it is actually so good that parents teach their children the theory as well as practical driving and then they only have to go to an official place for examination. This test does not always look like here in Germany, but it can be that the tester only briefly drives the road and lets you park once in a parking space, where the car would fit in five times, so you have to be very stupid for falling through. However, as mentioned, this is all regulated by state to state.

Here, however, it would be useful to mention in connection with the question whether learning passports for training trips (with parents or acquaintances) are necessary in the USA as in England or in Switzerland.

America is big.

But children always mean the USA when they say "America".

A driving license is mandatory in every US state.

No. However, in the USA you can already get a driving permit with 16. But then not in every state. That's what the USA is ticking.

In one, something is allowed and if you go one step to the neighboring state in some areas, it is forbidden.

In the USA, everyone needs a driving license. And in some states it can already be done with 16.

In the States, you can stop driving at 16. 🤷 ♀️ Driving drunk is just as forbidden there as here.
