The sun visor on your motorcycle helmet doesn't quite cover your eyes?

Hello, the sun visor on my motorcycle helmet doesn't completely cover my eyes, but only about half of them. So, half of my field of vision below isn't tinted. The only explanation I can think of is that it makes the speedometer easier to see. I've had this problem with several helmets.

Is that how it should be?

Looks like you've got the helmet too far over your forehead. The sun sight does not go down completely, however, because otherwise it may rest on the nose.
