Eye pain from very bright reflection (harmful)?

Hello,

I just got out of bed and looked towards the window. The sun was blazing in. The floor was already reflecting the sunlight strongly, but there were also white socks lying there. Since my phone is on the windowsill and my room is messy, I was forced to look at the floor.

That hurts my eyes a lot. The outside environment and the reflections in the room felt 10 times brighter than the rest of the room.

Can this cause damage to the eyes?

Or does the pain arise in that moment because the eyes have to switch from dark to light in a flash?

I've tried to describe the situation as best as I can. If you need any further information, please let me know.

The question is really serious and therefore I ask for serious answers, thank you.

No. Looks like this. If you are very light-sensitive, do not look in bright light if it does not have to be. It's not harmful, but it's just unpleasant.
