Itching for no reason in winter. Restriction of quality of life?
Hello friends
I've always noticed this during the winter months. I'm 29 years old, 1.85m tall, and about 93 kg, and I'm married.
I finished my studies about 1.5 years ago and am looking for work after quitting my job about a month ago.
I've had itching every October-March season for five years now. There's no swelling, no redness, no rash, and no allergies.
I mean, of course, if you get nervous, then it's understandable, because that has to be compensated for, but I've noticed in the following situations it's often the case that the itching appears and stays for at least 10 minutes.
- When I stand at the checkout and want to pay
- When I want to jog in the gym or even jog outside, after 2 minutes my whole body itches
- When I do strength training I have to go to the toilet for 10 minutes and my whole body itches,
- when something makes me uncomfortable or there are a lot of people somewhere (at least then I understand it)
- If I'm just going for a walk wearing a normal winter jacket, after 3 or 4 minutes everything itches and I just want to take my clothes off and scratch myself all over…
The itching feels like 1000 pinpricks coming out of my skin from the inside out, or as if 1000 ants had been thrown at me.
My doctors always told me to get an allergy test. I also got some "anti-nervousness" pills from the pharmacy, which didn't help either. I even went to a psychologist once, and he told me it might just be my attitude. That was also a great help (ironic).
During the colder seasons, my quality of life is so limited—at work, with family, during training, or even in my free time. Unfortunately, there's no help available. If anyone has any ideas or tips, please share them :D, otherwise it's always a torment :/

Hey,
Your problem could indicate dry skin, cold urticaria or a sweat urticaria, which is enhanced in winter by cold, dry air and stress. Here are some tips:
1. Skin care: Regularly cream with moisturizing lotion. Avoid hot showers and use only mild shower gels.
Two. Clothing: Wear breathable fabrics such as cotton and avoid scratches such as wool directly on the skin.
3. Antihistamines: In case of suspicion of urticaria, medicines such as cetirizin could help (speak with doctor)!
4. Relaxation: Stress reduction by breathing exercises or meditation.
Five. Medical Examination: visit to the skin physician or allerologist for targeted tests and therapies.
With good care and possibly medical support, you should be able to improve your quality of life!

In winter, the skin produces less sebum and dries out more easily. If you are also nervous/stressed, this will be reinforced. Then there is a strong itching. Solarium, vitamin D and frequent creaming, with particularly moisturizing lotions, better creams. These are my experiences with already dry skin.
There are also finished mixtures with several salts. You get them in the pharmacy and can also let you advise. Otherwise there are practitioners for salts as well as doctors for homeopathy; some homeopathic medicines could also be suitable.

Psychosomatic itching was ultimately diagnosed with me in a Uni-Hautklinik, recommended by doctors (once a week in winter time on the Solarbank), although they actually reject it!
Yeah, it helped!
