Lamb from the butcher has been in the fridge for 48 hours since 10 a.m. The delivery chain was interrupted for about 15-30 minutes after purchase until it arrived home. Still edible, what should I look out for?
The meat sat out for at least five minutes while it was being fed. Then it sat out for another 10 minutes. Then it was taken out for another 10 minutes to ration and weigh it. The 48 hours isn't quite right. It was more likely between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on a Friday.
Look at the color and how it smells should be very likely to be good 🙂
As always, look, smell, taste.
And I wonder that these are-my-food-noch-essbar questions now appear inflationary.
Just use the common sense. 😉
Look at the meat: Does it look different than before? Does it smell unpleasant?
If both fail satisfactorily, prepare the meat and then taste: Does it taste good?
I don’t think it’s corrupt.
