Complicated termination?

Hello! I'm feeling a bit uneasy about quitting my job at the end of next week to start working as a truck driver for another company. My current employer paid for my driver's license (€9,000). There was no contractual requirement that I commit to the company for a certain number of years.

Since I started working there as a driver (14 months), some unpleasant things have happened, some of which have caused me great frustration, which is why I would like to resign.

The main reasons are that it was agreed beforehand (verbally) that I would pay back my driver's license in installments. This didn't seem quite right to me, and after researching it, I discovered that it's actually illegal. Especially since a company can deduct this from their taxes. I confronted my supervisor with this information, and in the end, I didn't have to pay anything back. The atmosphere was tense from the start.

Secondly, after consultation, I was assured that I wouldn't have to do the long tours (from Sunday evenings to Fridays) because this isn't possible for me for personal reasons. This request was forgotten after a few months, and I was threatened with termination if I didn't do the said tours.

Despite all the negative incidents, I feel guilty. Perhaps I'm being too loyal in this case, even though I myself experienced little loyalty as an employee? I'm aware that the company doesn't stand or fall with me. And of course, I also know that I'm involved myself, and it's up to me what expectations I have of my employer and my professional life.

If you have any tips for me on how to handle this, or perhaps even for the termination interview, I would be very grateful. Best regards

Truck drivers are currently looking for change only some carriers have not yet understood.

That sounds strong like a case.

I’ll advise you to go and if that’s what’s going on next, I’ll change. Unfortunately, many black sheep are on the market so you have to look for a long time. Here then simply occur confidently and tell the boss quietly where he can wait one time outside 10 new companies hire the drivers and one of them will be fair to the employees.

Just don’t let yourself be fooled with the reward. For 2000 brutto plus Spesen you don’t need to drive that is much too little. Of 3,000 brutto I have heard several times and even if that is too little for work, that comes closer to a fair wage.

This did not happen to me completely and after I researched I had to find out that this is actually not right. Especially because a company/company can deduct this from taxes. I confronted my superior with this info, and finally I needed nothing to pay back.

Your employer (AG) has tried to cheat you.

On the other hand, I was assured by agreement that I did not need to drive the big tours (from Sundays to Fridays) because this is not possible with me for private reasons. This request was forgotten after a few months and I was threatened with termination if I didn’t drive those tours.

2 things: your employer doesn’t stick to agreements, he doesn’t care about your private situation, and 2. he’s threatening you with notice if you don’t track.

And now tell me seriously: WARUM do you have a bad conscience again?

Who did not stick to the agreements and tried to pull you over the table?

This company has absolutely not earned your loyalty and working power…but you know that yourself.

Now to what you can do to make you feel better. Just keep in mind how many nice hours this “terrorist” stole you with your family on weekends. Then try to remember how many things you have escaped (birthday celebration of your children, etc.

At the latest, you will realize that your bad conscience is inappropriate here.

By the way: if you have quit, take your rest holiday that you still have. If you don’t have one, you’ll be sick about Burnout.

For such a company, I wouldn’t waste a single day of my precious life.

By the way: keep all the agreements you meet in writing in the future. Only what is in the employment contract can be filed in court.

Tips? Apart from the fact that we now only know the one side or version of the story(s), it sounds as if it is the best way for you as a worker, as well as the employer, or those in the company that are responsible for the disposition.

by the way, “In particular, because a company/company can deduct this from taxes.” … you could have done it in the tax return, which would have benefited you. And a company does not deduct it from the tax, but rather performs it as a cost in accounting, which reduces revenue/winning.

“while I have experienced little loyalty even as a worker?” … I’ll leave it incompetent.

I actually have a final tip: stay both in possible personnel talks and the remaining working time objectively and neutral. Although testimonials must always be well-written, in the industry much & often exchanged orally. No matter whether rumors or truths, it speaks a lot. That’s why you shouldn’t give a reason to understand what I mean.

Hello honestly, also think about you and your health, that is all about the nerves.

If the climate is already so poisoned, I would look for something new. If you are blackmailed with driving on Sunday or you can go hello? what is this for a staff management.
