Confirmation from the youth welfare office that the child will be admitted to daycare starting January 1, 2023, but moving in on March 20, 2023?
Hello, I received confirmation from the daycare management two and a half weeks ago. The letter states that the confirmation is from January 1st, 2023.
The daycare center called today and said that the settling in can only take place at the end of March, ie March 20, 2023… is it normal for the settling in to take so late?
This is actually not normal.
But asking the youth welfare office about types of acclimatization doesn't help at all.
So you should first politely clarify with the daycare center how exactly this will work on January 2, 2023 (January 1 is a holiday), i.e. when exactly you should drop off and pick up your child.
They'll most likely tell you that you can't bring the child before March 20. This information is important, though, because only with this information can you go to the youth welfare office.
However, the youth welfare office will only help you if there are truly compelling reasons against starting on March 20, 2023. This would be the case, for example, if your work resumes on January 2 (I don't know your background here).
Good luck!
Then something's not right. Normally, a child starts the adjustment period with kindergarten. You'll probably have to check with the youth welfare office again.
The caregiver said that there are a lot of children that need to be settled in and that their appointments are full 🤷♀️ whether the youth welfare office can do anything about it is another question, well, I guess there's nothing else I can do except ask the youth welfare office… Thanks for the quick reply
Just ask – it never hurts 😉
This is not normal.
The acclimatization should begin on January 1st and then last 4-6 weeks.
The kindergarten apparently cannot adhere to the care contract.
A teacher has quit, become ill, or another family needs the place before you much more urgently.
Write to the kindergarten and ask them to provide you with the new start date in writing. You can then forward this to the welfare office or job center.
