Pension application still not processed although I should have received it since July 1, 2023, what should I do?
I'm currently receiving a disability pension, which was supposed to be converted into a regular retirement pension starting in July. I called Berlin and was told that they're having IT problems and it might take until October. They're still paying my early retirement. I'm already annoyed that I don't even know how much pension I can expect. What should I do?

Are you sure about that? Disability pensions are usually limited in time. Has this limitation been lifted?
You can't do anything. The government is hopelessly overwhelmed in many areas.

This isn't about the usual time limit, which is used to determine whether the pension is still justified. A few days ago, I saw a notice regarding a permanent disability pension stating that the pension would be paid until date X, and then the old-age pension would be paid, for which an application must be submitted. The cut-off date here is the start of the old-age pension.

But don't expect the standard retirement pension to be higher—it's almost always lower, mathematically speaking. In that case, you'll continue to receive the same pension amount as a vested right. So, it won't have any financial impact on you if it takes a while longer.
