8TB My Book consolidated to 0% since 1 hour (TRIM started)?

I started the TRIM on my 8TB My Book HDD using the in-house WD software and since then the HDD has been at 100% capacity, at 60MB/s and is at 0% consolidation and pass 1….
Question 1) How long does something like this take?
Question 2) If I stop it, will something happen to my data? 7.3 TB are occupied, and that would be a real shame! 🙁

PS: The drive optimization is however a defragmentation and possibly some other additional (depending on disk, file system, …)! Hey, thanks for your answer. However, over 1h has brought exactly 1%, i.e. I would have to run my PC over 100h, that is definitely too long and so much power consumption. Nothing happened. He has filed a 64GB file under the order “System Volume…” (apparently cached) which I deleted with the iObit Unlocker. Everything worked:)
Moreover, the program you use is also right to question again. If you don’t deactivate Shadow Copies, you’ll get back to the folder.

Deleting something from System Volume is also not wise. There’s the Shadow Copies in there to fix any problems in the file system. In addition, the Shadow Copies allow to access previous versions of files which would be good if your action had followed.
Before you hung around such things, it would be wise to first read what exactly happens and how these mechanisms work. Otherwise you’ll shoot yourself sometime.
TRIM is something completely different, but you threw the fragmentation. TRIM is an ATA command that sends drivers when this is enabled for the disk or file system type…

I know I’ve taken a risk, but that’s what really pissed me off:(and the 64GB seemed very strange to me because it was about the time he probably “defragmented” in the 1h. On the 8TB HDD, there are no shadow copies (file versions) enabled, as I only use them as backup disk. Yes several days at 8TB has already been logical, but thought TRIM would be different than defragmentation and goes more fixed. No matter what’s learned again 🙂
PS: How can I deactivate these Shadow Copies from the HDD or is this shadow copy meant?
So I find under TRIM only one command to release useless data blocks from an SSD so that they can be written faster later.
I’m not sure what’s happening in a HDD.
However, the drive optimization is likely to come close to the classic defragmentation, in which the data, i.e. not the files, but bits, are also pushed so that free blocks can be written more quickly and reliably.
This can take a few hours to days depending on the performance of the plate. You can stop it without any problems. Your data is not lost.
More modern SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) HDDs have a 2nd level translator that can also handle TRIM and with the HDDs, TRIM also makes sense. Basically something similar happens to an SSD.
