8 mg lorazepam?

Hyyy

I'm currently taking 7 mg of Temesta as a reserve. But it's no longer working. The package insert states that the maximum dose is 7.5 mg. Can I take more if it doesn't help? Is 8 mg already an overdose? Could I combine Temesta with another medication to achieve the desired effect?

I look forward to your answers

and yes I will discuss this with my doctor

Lorazepam is a medicament from the group of benzodiazepines, which is primarily used as an anxious tranquilizer. It also acts as anti-epileptic and sleep-promoting.

The recommended max. Daily dose in the outpatient area is 3mg, in the stationary area 7.5mg.

Like all benzodiazepines, lorazepam is also difficult to physically and mentally dependent on too frequent use. This also involves a development of tolerance. The more common and the higher dosed lorazepam the faster you get used to it and the tablets lose their effect. In order to be able to maintain the effect, the dose must be increased more and more. And this leads even faster and deeper into the addiction. In addition, the dose cannot be infinitely increased. In the worst case, one is completely dependent on it without having a positive effect. You only need the tablets to avoid developing withdrawal symptoms.

In other words. If you increase to 8mg (which is very much), it is only a matter of time until this dose is no longer effective. Benzodiazepines (such as lorazepam) are only emergency drugs which should be taken as rare and as low dosed as possible. Other medicines are used for long-term drug treatment of anxiety disorders, although some more side effects may not be dependent on and no tolerance develops. For example, antidepressants from the group of SSRI and SNRI.
