500W Netzteil weiter verwenden?

Hallo,

Ich habe vor mir zu meiner Konfirmation einen neuen PC zu bauen und da dieser schon 750€ kostet wollte ich fragen ob ich mein altes Netzteil (500W) weiterverwenden kann.

Neuer PC;

R5 5600X (65W)

Sparkle ARC A750 Titan OC [225W] (~RTX3060 Basis)

16GB KINGSTON FURY X DDR4

Arctic Freezer III 360mm AIO

7x ARGB Lüfter (Controller hat Sata)

1x 512Gb NVME gen3x4

Ich glaube das das schon knapp wird, hier das Netzteil das ich weiter verwenden will;

Hello.

65W TDP is not to be confused with power consumption. It is up to 150 watts at 5600X. Nevertheless, in most scenarios, you might be well below, rather than under 100 watts.

325 watts for the main components under load, as there remains enough for the rest. RAM hardly consumes anything, ARGB fans are also not here, but there are quite many, that could then be 35-40 Watt. SSD also consumes 10 watts. The AiO should be around 20 watts.

All in all, however, you should not pull 450 watts even at the top, i.e. less than 90% of the capacity. It should be clear, at least long enough, that you can afford a new NT. 😉 But I don’t know the NT, or I never had one of the brand. So can’t judge whether it’s quality or rather direction Chinaböller.

As a rule of thumb, you should never save on the PC’s power supply!

Happy socks! 👍

500 watts would be enough, but the TR2 S is garbage, so I would exchange it. A decent power supply does not cost the world now

You’ll get the money back in other places. Exchange CPU for 5600 non X

Replace the A750 with ne RX 6600, save ~100 watt under load

https://geizhals.de/sapphire-pulse-radeon-rx-6600-11310-01-20g-a2619885.html?hloc=de

And replacing the AIO with nen Frost Spirit 140, costs less and completely enough

By the way, the housing is missing

Hello,

the power supply is sufficient for the new configuration. Even if it is not exactly convincing qualitatively. The required performance provides it.

So 16Gb as a gaming machine, well, I might be upgraded to 32.
AIO and then a 360?
Well, that’s all his thing.

If you subvolt CPU and GPU, you can save up to 100-150 watts.

Otherwise, a good 500watt net part is still loose enough

So you should use a 500/550watt NT.
If you currently have a 420Watt power supply, you are indirectly forced to subvolt to save power.

I also have a 5800X3D and this is a heat monster (no OC).
Even I have an air cooler, Dark Rock Pro 4 in it, and the cools down the loose, but I also subvolt.

You forget the 225Watt The MAX consumption is. Idle isn’t 50-100watts.

420Watt is just a short, really.
Fan, AIO, hard drives and and and, eating your PC away the power, 420Watt could be short when everything runs on Max power.

So my tip:

This goes, brand power supplies often deliver almost the specified power to 12 volts (CPU/GPU). Yours are 420 watts. 65 W + 225 W = 290 W, thus remain 130 watts for load peaks.

I have a 5 year old BeQuiet with 500 watts. Miene CPU has a TDP of 105 Watt and the GPU of 200 Watt. Never had any problems.

The CPU is generally not fully loaded. It might be a maximum of 50% when playing. Almost it could be if CPU and GPU are permanently fully loaded, but for a short time it goes safely too.

I wouldn’t recommend it. This saves only 50€. Power supplies wear with time and can then make it slip after a certain age or the maximum power decreases precisely with high utilization.
The model is about 9 years old, if the actual power supply is similar to old, then I would strongly advise to use it.

But take a rx 7700xt or rtx 3080/4070

the rtx 3060 really doesn’t show up

Also the 15% more are not good, since really prefer the 150€ more for 50% more performance (compared to a750) investment

Save on the fans or add that to it, that will definitely be worth it, also much more future
