45Cdi only goes 45kmh?
Hello, I own a 49cc Sym scooter. I have a 25 and a 45 CDI. The 25 CDI goes 30-32 km/h, and the 45 CDI goes 45 km/h. Will the scooter go 60-70 km/h with an open CDI? Is an open CDI legal with the appropriate driver's license? My scooter only goes 45 km/h with the open CDI. That's a bit disappointing.
Hello,
the CDI has the main task of limiting the speed (additional) if the other throttle elements at the hardware level should possibly fail. The ignition time can also be tapped via the CDI to an extended extent via additional sensors, and a control measurement of the speed at the transmission output can also be determined if necessary.
If the scooter also maintains its maximum permissible 45 KM/h with "open" (unlimited) CDI, this can certainly speak for good throttling in the flow characteristics of the working tract of a motor at the hardware level.
The use of a safety/performance-relevant component without type-approval can also lead to the release of the vehicle's license without "success". It is then possible to prevent further travel, and an orderly fine is also due.
For as long as the effective engine capacity does not exceed 50 cc, with a driving license class AM, and neither "marque" increases in the manufacturer's nominal power and additional power. The FE class AM is normally not yet in danger of being able to determine the maximum speed despite detected tuning. More than about 35% tolerance, however, the legislature is no longer fundamental in combination with detectable tuning.

Thank you, now I have not fully understood whether an Open Cdi will drive 60kmh if the 45Cdi will drive only 45kmh and whether the Open Cdi is legal?
I recite:
A "open" CDI often has no vehicle-specific type approval if it does not offer any electronic speed limit.
A motor can also be used in addition to the electronic throttle in addition have been designed in such a way that it does not exceed its nominal speed, according to manufacturer specifications.
I can't say that to you in the blue, because for a concrete statement the construction of the internal circuits of the CDI and the vehicle circuit diagram would have to be known. So see:
All right. The 25Cdi has 2 plugs. Is one of them the speed limiter? If I can put it out, it will drive 45 kmh
So with an open Cdi there is a risk that the motor overturns this is not bad first but then it happens at a long time the best motor will eventually be adopted I would look for another throttled Cdi in some models there are also Cdi's the 60kmh throttles and so you don't risk driving your scooter Kaputt
