4 days delay normal?

I'm 4 days late and I'm worried because I have normal pain and bloating (I can't be pregnant and I'm only 14 and have never had a boyfriend). I really don't know, so I'm asking here first and if it continues like this I'll go to the gynaecologist.

Hello 👋

This is completely normal in the beginning.

During the first three years (including the third year), it's common for periods to be early, late, or not at all. No matter how regular they were before, these things can still happen. This is because your body needs to adjust. The whole cycle thing is still new to your body. It doesn't quite know when to release which hormone, in what quantity, to which location. It's still learning how to do this, and mistakes are bound to happen.

So everything's fine. Over time, your cycle will no longer exhibit such irregularities. However, delays of 1-7 days are still normal and nothing to worry about. If your period isn't coming for more than 6 months before the end of the three-year period, you should see a gynecologist to have it checked out. After the three years, you should see a gynecologist if your period is delayed by more than 3 months.

The delay, absence, and duration of periods that are too long or too short can have many causes besides those mentioned above.

These include:

  • stress
  • Medications
  • Underweight or overweight
  • Lots of sport
  • Weight gain or loss
  • Changes in eating habits
  • Altered sleep rhythm
  • Travel
  • Illnesses (flu, gastrointestinal, etc.)
  • gynecological diseases
  • menopause
  • pregnancy
  • Stopping the pill (up to 6 months later)
  • new contraceptive
  • Morning-after pill
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • too little or too much sleep
  • etc.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I hope I could help you 🙃

Good luck 🍀

Your mental cycle is still developing. Changes between 1-7 days are normal, but still mention this change at your next female doctor appointment to make sure it was really nothing bad

That can happen. The period can also come later. If you have stomach pain and bloating, it’s more of the gut.

Good luck to you

This can be cycle-related (PMS).

It’s possible. But 4 days late can happen.

Make yourself a warm warm hot bottle on your belly and cuddly your cuddly animal.

The rule has to play right first.

Good improvement 💛.
