Hi, I wanted to ask, since the Euro 5 standard for motorcycles comes into effect in 2020, what exactly that means. I want to buy a motorcycle this year or next year, but definitely one that still meets Euro 4 standards. Now: If I have a 2020 model year motorcycle, can I still register it as Euro 4? If so, only this year or also next year? And if not, what model year would I need to buy to still meet Euro 4 standards?

Hello Emil,
from 1. January 2020 for all new motorcycle type approvals the exhaust gas values of the standard Euro 5 – Also for the 125 class. From 2021 the Euro 5 then also mandatory for all newly approved motorcycles.
Logically, the motorcycle must before 31 December December 2019 have been approved to be classified according to Euro 4.
