You just have to find out the specific weight. You simply multiply the value by weight. Believe even that is given in kg/dm3.

Okay, I probably got yours Source found, math freak. Apparently, you still have the understanding reading, because it says:

1,000 liters of fuel oil are about 2,000 kilograms (~ 2 tonnes) pellets

So to your understanding (maybe): It goes there NOT to the weight of oil, but to the weight of pellets which are comparable to the heating power of the stated amount of oil.
