Have a little research and find this explanation.

The price increase in the energy markets has had a massive impact on beer production: Producer costs increased so much that beer increased by 11% in 2023 – the highest price increase in the last 30 years.

However, this year’s situation has been somewhat relaxed:

  • The consumer price index for beer indicates that prices have risen from 2023 to 2024 by only 1.16% – but on the meadow the measure costs almost 4% more.
  • General inflation can only partially justify this price increase. Completion: There are many additional cost factors on a folk festival. In this context, a spokesman for the Oktoberfest refers to increased personnel costs and the increase in value added tax, which was partly also relocated to beverages.

I had once read a list of the costs. There’s a lot to come together. In addition, the annual increase in wage costs.

What you should also consider: 1/2 liter of beer in a very normal economy can cost 4 euros even without music and entertainment

Supply and demand

There will be new records again and the hosts have done everything right

Consider that you don’t pay admission. All costs must be financed through food and beverages. By the way, a large beer (0.5l) in a normal restaurant costs well over 5€. The distance to measure is not even so great.

But for 15 euros, I also get almost a nice box in the beverage market.

Sure. But without live music, festival tent, operation, festive mood. You have to know what you want.

Yesterday’s report reads that the services are not hired but independent. In other words, there is a 10 percent intermediary trader surcharge from the outlet to the guest.

Otherwise: Supply and demand.

And the place rents….

The construction of a tent costs the host about EUR 1m.

More than 50% of the meadows pass before the money is paid.

There is a market for this (2023: 7.2 m visitors).

What is this EUR 1m?

Supply and demand, inflation, manufacturing costs, logistics, people still pay it, profit margins, etc.

Hello, asdfghji. 😊

Yes, the question is justified….

Not only the breweries have increased their prices, that would be the smaller evil.

Immens up shots are the place rents on the meadow, and of course this turns to the consumer.

Greetings, Renate. 😊
