This depends, among other things, on your demands on your potential Möppi.
Next:
You have a guarantee for a new purchase.
Any production defects or the like are fixed free of charge by the manufacturer/manufacturer.
But: In order to maintain the maximum guarantee, the inspections at the dealer are necessary.
When buying a used goods from the dealer, you also have (if not on behalf of a customer) but only shortened warranty claims for defects.
When buying used by private you usually have no warranty claims, except for ‘arglistig concealed defects’ such as e.g. unfamiliar and deliberately concealed incidental damage or a deliberately manipulated and/or incorrect kilometre flow rate.
In the case of a later sale, the loss of value in a new Möppi is usually higher than in a used one, which in the case of a larger one can already make up.
Thank you for the detailed description. If it is unsafe to buy/ should you take the risk (you can also check the “Möppi” from the TÜV or?).
There is a risk even in the case of new purchases, but here the warranty and/or warranty can intervene.
Apart from the immediately recognizable state of a used carppis (which running performance (km) it has, how well it is, it has rust, how well are tires, brakes, chain, battery, exhaust, how well it starts, it runs clean or sounds / it feels like a sack nuts, the headlight glass is clear or already milky, all functions are given, it has been protected in rest periods or unprotected), it can always be helpful.
If the provider acts like someone who thinks to prove himself to be a low-flighter and/or a low-flight victim, who tries to play down every defect as negligible or feels to try out with self-made performance increases, I would leave my fingers away. A rather quiet besonnener (usually older) person who has carried out maintenance and repairs in a workshop is definitely preferable.
Tip: Always ask and compare for workshop bills and checkbooks!
What did the supplier mainly use the Möppi for?
If he was only entangled with friends, he made longer tours or used it to always go to work. Lastly, did it (possibly also in winter) reach the operating temperature?
These are only some factors to be taken into account when buying used, which can be neglected at first when buying new goods, as well as the ever-present replacement of wear parts, if not already done.
Conversely, Apart from the cheaper purchase price (compared to a new one) of a motorcycle that is maintained by the provider, it may also have useful extras installed and installed, which are not always present from the front in a new one, such as topcase, suitcases/pockets, cambers, heated handles and the like (depending on the model and design).
You see; It is a for and against that also depends on your own needs and/or requirements.
A pre-purchase test of the motorcycle should be carried out by a workshop. The Tüv only checks traffic and environmental safety, not how long you still enjoy the part.
It is always useful (in the case of new and used) to make themselves smart on the net about possible weaknesses of the potential object of desire.
